Trinidad
Cigars -
the Cigar of
Maximo Lider
Trinidad is named after the beautiful
city of La Santisima Trinidad,
built in the 16th Century.
Located on the South coast of
Cuba, it has been granted world
cultural heritage status by the
UNESCO. As a brand, the
Trinidad dates back to 1969. Like the
Cohiba, it was manufactured
exclusively as a gift for
foreign diplomats. At one time,
it was also reserved solely for
Fidel Castro. Only in 1998, was
is released for general sale.
Trinidad
cigars are manufactured in the
factory El Laguito, and is most
likely why the
Fundadores resemble the
Cohiba Lanceros. The
Trinidad cigars have
developed a rounder, more noble
flavor, due to a third
fermentation like the
Cohibas, which confers to them a unique
Cuban taste. The series was
expanded by three
formats
in
2004, of which all exhibit a
larger ring gauge than the
Trinidad Fundadores. The
original Trinidad is the
Fundadores, an elegant cigar
with earthy, cedar and
sandalwood flavors in full
smoke, and with a rich and
expressive taste. Out of the
three new formats, we especially
recommend the
Trinidad Rubustos
Extra, which is similar to the
Cohiba Siglo VI. The small
Trinidad Reyes and the
Trinidad
Coloniales supplement the
assortment in the shorter and
mid-lengths.
