Sancho Panza
Cigars
Like
the famous brand names
Montecristo and
Romeo y Julieta, the designation
Sancho Panza originates from a masterpiece of
world literature. Sancho Panza
was the faithful servant of the
Knight Don Quixote, from the
famous novel of the same name
written by the Miguel de
Cervantes (pictured at left), a
Spaniard who lived in the 17th
Century. In 1848, the name was
first used as a designation for
a
Cuban cigar and since then has
enjoyed an outstanding
reputation. The assortment
includes one of the largest
Habanos: the 235mm long
Gran
Corona, which is simply called
Sancho. The
Sancho Panza consists of a moderately-strong
blend of tobaccos grown in the
Vuelta Abajo region.
Sancho Panza is not one of those
brands which first comes to mind
when speaking of fine
Habanos. Yet this series of classic
cigars is quite able to offer a
pleasant smoking experience. The
Sancho Panza
cigars are mild and
pronouncedly well-rounded,
earthy-sweet and creamy by
Habanos standards, and therefore
quite suited to be recommended
to the novice. The flavor may
remind the connoisseur of the
aroma of the likewise very well
loved
Vegas Robaina. The quality
of workmanship is, as with the
Vegas Robaina, on a very high
level, and therefore the
Sancho
Panza can be regarded as a
trustworthy investment. We
particularly recommend the
Sancho Panza
Belicoso, for a
long smoke the powerful
Sancho,
and for a shorter enjoyment, the
Sancho Panza
Non Plus.
