San Cristobal Cigars
 San
Christobal de la Habana was the
original name of Havana, the
capital city of Cuba, when it
was founded in 1519;
San
Cristobal in honor of
Christopher Columbus (pictured
at left), and La Habana after an
Indian name for “place”. The
Habanos
brand
San Cristobal de
la Habana was introduced in
1999, in memory of the long
history of this city. The
persuasive taste of the
San
Cristobal cigars are marked by
an intensive, moist-earthy and
sweet flavor, with notes of
undergrowth.
The assortment consists of four
formats, each named after one of
the fortresses which defended
the city during the period when
it was at the center of the
Spanish realm in Latin America.
The four
Vitolas are produced in
the ancient cigar factory “La
Corona” in the old part of
Havana. The largest
Parejo
of
San Cristobal is San Cristobal
El Morro, the second largest – a
Gordito
- carries the name
La
Fuerza, The
Belicoso format is
called
La Punta, and the
smallest of the group, an
aromatic
Très Petit Corona
bears
the name
El Principe.
