Cuaba Cigars - Assortment and
characterisitics
The
“Figurado” is one of the most
difficult cigar forms to shape -
both ends are tapered to a
point. Like the
Cohiba, the name
Cuaba stems from the Cuban
Taino
Indian language and designates a
highly flammable shrub whose
glowing branches have regularly
played an important role in
religious ceremonies.
Cuaba
cigars are manufactured in the
Romeo y Julieta factory by the
most experienced
Torcedores.

The
Cuaba is rather atypical for a
Cuban cigar, since it is
marvelously mild and is adapted
to the taste of a new
enthusiast. It is quite suitable
for the beginner. Despite it’s
mildness, it is very spicy with
an inspiring breath of citrus
aroma.
Figurados were out of
fashion for a while, until the
Cuban master-blenders and
Master Torcedores proved the opposite
with the
Cuaba series. Above
all, the large-sized
Distinguido and
Salomone
overshadow some of the
Parejos.
The small
Divino and
Tradicionale, as well as the
larger
Generoso and
Exclusivo, were the first to be introduced
to the market; later they were
followed by the longer
Distinguidos with the
Havana-2000 wrapper and the
queen of the Cuaba cigars – the
exceptional
Salomone. The
“knockout” in this label is the
rarely available Cuaba
Diademas,
a 235mm long perfect Perfecto, a
dream of a cigar!
